This course introduces the current technologies and future challenges and trends related to the design, manufacturing, and installation of submarine cables, which are essential for offshore wind power projects.
\nDevelopment plans are being considered to expand from nearshore bottom-fixed wind power to floating wind power further offshore. As a result, the installation of submarine cable lines that connect the wind turbines in offshore wind farms and transmit electricity to onshore stations is becoming increasingly important.
\nSubmarine cables are the most accident-prone area within offshore wind power and are the sector most covered by insurance. The content is created by Engineering Advancement Association of Japan and its member companies, with experienced technical experts serving as instructors.
