We held online classes on September 14 (Monday) and 28 (Monday) as part of the “Ocean Technology” course for first-year students in the Department of Marine Science at Choshi Commercial Senior High School.

The students listened attentively and asked thoughtful questions throughout the sessions.

During our introduction to offshore wind power, we discussed the anticipated timeline for offshore wind development off the coast of Choshi City. By relating this timeline to the students’ own ages, we hoped to encourage them to think about their futures and the opportunities that offshore wind power may bring.

We also covered the background behind the development of marine renewable energy, as well as issues related to climate change and the marine environment.
