Learning how to select a foundation structure for offshore wind and installing the foundations.

This course is offered in cooperation with IHC IQIP of the Netherlands and Japan Offshore Drilling Co. Based on data such as water depth, seabed, and meteorological/oceanographic conditions at the construction site, we will select the most suitable foundation structure from several types. Special equipment such as lifting tools and hammers are required for efficient construction. The know-how of IHC IQIP, which has extensive experience in Europe, and the experienced marine engineering and civil engineering experts from Japan Offshore Drilling, which has drilled oil and gas wells in the world’s oceans, will provide the most up-to-date knowledge on the design and construction of offshore wind farms.

”On-Site” is a hands-on training program that is unique to Nagasaki, which has actual sea areas.

Target Participant

Project managers, members and construction engineering personnel of project development companies. Sales representatives and engineers of EPC contractors and construction companies.

Goal

To understand how to select the most appropriate foundation for the development site's ground, water depth, and meteorological and oceanic conditions, and how to construct it offshore.

Content

Learn how to select and construct a foundation structure based on information obtained from site surveys.

This course is offered in cooperation with IHC IQIP of the Netherlands and Japan Drilling Co. In the case of offshore wind power generation, this course will teach you how to select and install multiple foundation structures based on data such as water depth, seabed, meteorological and oceanographic conditions at the construction site. The most suitable one has to be selected from various types. Special equipment such as hangers and hammers are required for efficient construction. Our experts will provide you with the latest knowledge which includes latest know-how of IHC IQIP, which has extensive experience in Europe, and Japan Drilling’s offshore civil engineering experience.
We also provide a workshop that utilizes a VR system to learn more about each component of the offshore wind turbine and learn about the hazards and the risks of offshore work.
